This book is a testimony. Undoubtedly the first from a black female entrepreneur with impact who decided, twenty years ago, to change the rules like many young people of her generation refusing climate and social injustice.
Not to shine or win alone but so that everyone wins, especially the most vulnerable, African women producers of Shea Grand Cru from Benin and their daughters.
Is the game worth the candle? Have the rules changed? What is the real price to pay?

A book of testimony that should be in everyone's hands!
It takes tremendous courage and dedication to put such powerful words forward, with the goal of making a difference. I have profound respect for Carole Tawema, who has written her story with great strength and humor, without worrying about what people will say.
It takes a lot of guts to reveal yourself like that.
Thank you for setting such a wonderful example. Never give up, and always fight for the human values you believe in. In the crazy world we live in, "The Ethics Prize" is a message of hope, despite the thousands of pitfalls Karethic has had to face and still faces today.
Can't wait to devour Season 2!

I hope that this testimony will be in all libraries, read by young people and by all women who want to start a business, whether they are of mixed, African, diverse or other origins! Firstly because it is the very authentic, raw and direct story of the adventure of the Karethic company. The ups, the downs, the progress, the setbacks, the accelerations, it's all there, with a lot of life and humour too, which helps to release some of the pressure... and there is so much of it as soon as we try to do things "well", that is to say in accordance with values that seem, a priori, to go against "business as usual". We often hear that we should not mix "pro" and "personal" but nothing could be further from the truth because they are mixed up all the time. This is also what the author shares: her very strong intention to have a positive impact in Benin (place of production) and in France (place of sale). It is a book that gives energy and courage! It is of course very focused on the founder's experience but she is not alone and we feel the importance of her team, her family, and all the people who believe in it and fight with her. Only one regret: it is too short and I can't wait to read volume 2!!
